           It is also known as Sujanpur Tihra. It is situated on the bank of Beas river. There is a Sainik school and ground in the town.


Nadaun 

     Nadaun is one of the tehsils of Hamirpur. It is  famous for its Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple, which was constructed by the Pandavs. And there is also situated  a Gurudwara, established in 1929 AD.



Brief History - Hamirpur


Hamirpur is closely associated with the Katoch dynasty and in the ancient time it was a part of the old Jalandhar empire. 

1st September, 1972 the day, when Hamirpur was created as a separate district with two tehsils - Hamirpur and Barsar.

In present time, Hamirpur is divided into 7 districts -

  3. Tauni Devi (sub tehsil) 

  4. Galore (sub tehsil)

  As we already tell that National Highway 103 is the major road of Hamirpur so it is the most convenient way to reach Hamirpur. Shimla to Hamirpur distance is 146 km and Chandigarh is 187 km away from here.

Jatoli Shiv Mandir    The temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. Completing the construction work of the temple took 39 years. It is the highest temple of Asia with 111 feet height.
