Dharamshala ( Himachal Pradesh)

 Dharamshala ( Himachal Pradesh)

Feelocation:Dharamshala ;Kangra ;H.P.

Sometimes our words aren't enough to describe our feelings about something. I am feeling the same situation for this article. Dharamshala is a place which can't be get it's perfect explanation in words.  As I want to connect my readers to the place I'll tell me personal experience about the place.

Dharamshala an incredible place situated in the middle of snowy mountains, a heaven type peace and  will take you a bit closer to the god.

This trip was an unplanned trip for me. We just made a plan and packed our bags to the destination. We moved from shimla in evening. We have no idea about the roads and other things. But as it used to said that unplanned trips are the best, this trip was the same. We opened the google mape and started moving towards the place. Because we started our journey in the evening we can't reach the destination in one day. But we decided to travel as much as we can. So my companion drived the car late in the night. The journey was so peace full and beautiful. We travelled through the Darla ghat road. This road took us to the Bilaspur at night. It was about 7pm. When we reached Bilaspur. So we decided to stay there but we were too late so were not able to got any room. We moved on and started our journey again. He was driving the car continously and it was about 1am , we were tired like dieing. All the markets were closed. We reached the place named Nadoon. Luckily we found a hotel opened there. We got a room and take rest. We started our journey again in the morning, it was 9 O'clock. We took break fast and moved on. The roads were started becoming beautiful, we were able to watch the mountains of Dharamshala in front of us. The beauty of that landscap draging making us more eager about that place. We reached the place. This place was just beyond the words. There were tourists all over the roads.

We started looking all around us. The place was crowded and full of tourists, hawkers, shops and vehicles. The main market was full of Buddhist sculptures and beautiful arts on jewellery and on other things.  Then we moved to the Church named as st. John church. It was about 2km away from the main dharamshala and it was on the road of Mcleod ganj.  The road was full of vehicles. It took more than 2hours to travel 2km. Our car was walking like a turtle on the road. But all this trouble got washed when we reached the place. So calm and eye warming it was. Then we moved to the Mcleod ganj. This place was amazing. Beautiful monasteries, monks all over the market, it was like we were in Tibet.  You can easily feel that beautiful feeling of God Buddha. The market was full of Tibetian things. Most shopkeepers belonged to the Bhuddhist religion. When you reach  the place you will never want to come back. You'll feel like you are in the place of God. Your soul will become pure after visiting this place.

I must say that If you are a charmer of historical art and paintings you should visit this place. And if you want adventure then a biking facility is also available there. You can hire a motorbike or bicycle for your traveling. It will make your way more adventures and less time consuming. And you can feel the mountains and natural peace a bit more. And book your hotel rooms in advance because this place is high on demand in the list of travellers.

Brief History

The history of this wooing place belongs to the Dharma guru Dlai lama and his monks. It is believed that they came from Tibet and wanted help from the king of Himachal. That time the king gave them this place to stay. That's why the place named as Dharamshala means the place where refugees used to live. The city Mc leod ganj was also established by these budhhist pilgrims and monks. The place was so peaceful and due to its weather advantages it was always a favorite of Brithishiers . There officers used to come here for holidays and they also developed the place in a better way. The church was made by the British Government.

How to reach

The main land of Dharamshala is about 235kms from Shimla. There is another road for this place but it is a longer one. The trip will take 6 and a half hours. If you travel by your personal vehicle but if you are planning to travel by  H. P. Roadways will take more time. I suggest you travel by your own vehicle, car or bike because the journey will give you excellent experiences.

Mcleodganj is about 3km away from Dharamshala. You can hire a bike or bicycle for more adventure. This facility is available in Dharamshala easily.

Market

Main bus stand of this place is known as Dharamshala Busstand. The market is a big one. You can easily get whatever you want. There are many hotels too, so you can stay there or enjoy your stay.

Dominance of Budhhist art and culture is in the air of this market. Shops are full of Budhhist sculptures and paintings, beautiful kinnauri jewelry is also available there.

Mcleodganj

Mcleodganj is about 3km away from Dharamshala. It is known as little lhasa because of the large population of tibetans there. This place is full of Budhhist monks and monasteries. A huge population of tourists are always there.

Cricket stadium Dharamshala

This stadium was established by HPCA in the year of 2003. This is an international stadium. It is famous for international as well as local matches. But due to the weather conditions of Dharamshala there are few international matches taking place. Because this place has high rainfall every year.
