         Dagshai is a small town. It is a cantonment hilltop area of Solan district. It is in its past time known as Daag-e-Shahi (Royal Mark). Dagshai is

                   There are 3 roads derived to Dagshai, two are going from Kalka-Shimla National Highway from Dharampur and Kumarhatti and other is connected at Gandhigram on Kumarhatti-Nahan State Highway.


Market 

         Dagshai has a very small market and there is no Hotel and fueling facility. There you will find some snacks and daily needs shops only.


Dagshai Jail 

         There is a historical jail memorial at Dagshai.The jail was established in 1849 A.D. with the cost of INR 72,873/-. Prison has 54 prisoner cells with 1×2 feet sized ventilators. Floor of the jail was made with wood to stop every escaping effort of the prisoners.


Military School 

       Dagshai is a cantonment area. There is an army school, which is situated at the top of the hill.


Railway Station

                       Kumarhatti Railway station is the nearest railway station to Dagshai. This railway station is 3.5 km away from Dagshai.

-Kalka Side

           If you come from Kalka/Delhi side then take the Dharampur-Dagshai Road. Dharampur is 25 km from Kalka.

 

-Shimla Side

   From Shimla side, Kumarhatti - Dagshai road is an economically good choice to reach Dagshai. Kumarhatti to Dagshai distance is 3 km and Kumarhatti is 58 km  from Shimla.


-Nahan Side

            If you come from Nahan side then Gandhi Gram - Dagshai route is convenient, Nahan to Gandhi Gram distance is 71 km, by Nahan - Kumarhatti State Highway.
