Solan Railway Station


Solan railway station is situated midway of the Kalka-Shimla Railway Line. Station is not very big
but gives all basic facilities to the passengers. It is connected to the Mall Road by a cemented path and Solan's market is not very far from here.

Railway Track

            Railway track is narrow gauge (i.e. track is narrower than standard track). At a time, there are only 2 trains that can be stopped.

Station Platform

              Station has only a platform which allows both ups and downs for passengers to board and off. 


Ticket and Reservation Counter

                        Station has ticket and reservation counters. Ticket counter opens every day but the reservation counter does not.

Retiring Room

               Although,station is small in size, it still provides a retiring rooms facility to the passengers for staying at the station.


Canteen

 There is a canteen also available in the railway station campus.

Toilet and Bathroom

    Station has sanitized toilets and bathrooms facilities for the passengers.



Trains 

 Kalka-Shimla Railway has toy trains, these trains are smaller in respect of length and width than  standard trains.

Location

Solan Railway station is situated nearer to the Mall Road of the city. There is a 200 meter cemented way to connect the Station to the Mall road.There is also another way to connect the station to ISBT Solan and the distance from station to ISBT is 300 meter.

How To Reach There

        

To reach the railway station conveniently, choose the Mall road of Solan and then take the opposite way of Rajgarh Road.
